SVE Cheetah Dash fall fundraiser and obstacle course

Let's make this year a great year for the SVE community! For our fall fundraiser this year, we're doing a PTA-run fun obstacle course for all students on Friday, November 7th. Pledge to help your student, class and school achieve goals.

Cheetah Dash raises funds that our students and teachers need this year for:

• Field trips
• Classroom materials
• Teacher training and supplies
• Extracurricular scholarships
• Community events

This fundraiser is run by the PTA—after credit card fees, 100% of donations go to the school.

Where do the funds raised go?

Field trips, teacher training and supplies, scholarships and community events. Last year we used over $6000 to pay for transportation to allow extra field trips for most grades, including 5th grade’s week-long Starbase STEM camp.

Are these funds for this year or next year?

Funds raised from Cheetah Dash will be used to support programs this school year. As of November 2, the PTA has $31,179.94 in the bank, and our projected expenses for the 25-26 school year are $83,149.68. We have a lot of support to provide students and teachers between now and the end of the year.

How are these funds going to be used this year?

The Dash last year brought in new money that allowed Ms. Navarro to strengthen the school's investment in our teachers. This year, she'd like to continue that investment. But we also have a shortfall in sponsorship income, so this fundraiser is needed first to support usual PTA operations for this year — field trips, classroom materials, in-school and extracurricular enrichment, and events for the teachers and community.

What happens if there’s extra money at the end of the year?

Anything not spent this school year, the PTA membership will vote in May on what to do with those funds. But as you can see above, we’ve got plenty to do this year first.

SVE CHEETAH DASH RECAUDACIÓN DE FONDOS DE OTOÑO Y CARRERA DE OBSTÁCULOS

¡Hagamos de este año un gran año para la comunidad de SVE! Para nuestra recaudación de fondos de otoño, organizaremos una divertida carrera de obstáculos para todos los estudiantes el viernes 7 de noviembre, a cargo de la PTA. ¡Comprométete a ayudar a tu hijo/a, a tu clase y a tu escuela a alcanzar sus metas!

La Carrera del Guepardo recauda fondos que nuestros estudiantes y maestros necesitan este año para:

• Excursiones
• Materiales escolares
• Capacitación y suministros para maestros
• Becas extracurriculares
• Eventos comunitarios

Esta campaña de recaudación de fondos está organizada por la AMPA; tras deducir las comisiones de las tarjetas de crédito, el 100% de las donaciones se destina a la escuela.

¿A DÓNDE VIENEN LOS FONDOS RECAUDADOS?

Excursiones, capacitación docente y materiales, becas y eventos comunitarios. El año pasado invertimos más de $6000 en transporte para realizar excursiones adicionales para la mayoría de los grados, incluyendo el campamento Starbase STEM de una semana de duración para los alumnos de quinto grado.

¿Estos fondos son para este año o el próximo?

Al 2 de noviembre, la Asociación de Padres y Maestros (PTA) cuenta con $31,179.94 en el banco, y nuestros gastos proyectados para el año escolar 2025-2026 ascienden a $83,149.68. Tenemos mucho apoyo que brindar a estudiantes y maestros de aquí a fin de año.

¿Cómo se utilizarán estos fondos este año?

La Carrera Cheetah Dash del año pasado generó nuevos fondos que permitieron a la Sra. Navarro fortalecer la inversión de la escuela en nuestros maestros. Este año, le gustaría continuar con esa inversión. Sin embargo, también tenemos un déficit en los ingresos por patrocinio, por lo que esta recaudación de fondos es necesaria en primer lugar para apoyar las operaciones habituales de la PTA este año: excursiones, materiales para el aula, actividades extracurriculares y de enriquecimiento dentro y fuera del horario escolar, y eventos para los maestros y la comunidad.

¿Qué sucede si sobra dinero al final del año?

Los fondos que no se gasten durante este año escolar serán objeto de una votación de la AMPA en mayo. Pero, como pueden ver, tenemos mucho trabajo pendiente este año.
